Quality of Life and Social Justice Flagship
The Quality of Life and Social Justice Flagship (QUALFLAG) is a research centre within Australian Catholic University . Our brief was to create a logo and website that conveys the key notion of humanity: helping less fortunate people out of times of hardship.

Visual Identity
Our first task was to create a new-look logo for The Quality of Life and Social Justice Flagship. It needed to reflect the aims of the research flagship. QUALFLAG loved the logo and our interpretation of it:

'Two figures dance joyously. Maybe one is helping the other out:reaching out to overcome a barrier or difficulty. They come from different walks of life but are joined together through circumstance and caring.'

Stationary
Next we created stationery for the flagship. We worked closely with the ACU marketing department in Sydney to ensure the designs comply with their style guide. We had to create range of designs that meant both the ACU logo and the new QUALFLAG logo sat well together on a page.

Publications
Part of a research flagship is communicating the work they do. QUALFLAG do this through a regular newsletter and holding seminars. We created a new design for their newsletter and seminar folders that kept a consisitent look to everything they hand out. Using elements from the new logo and visual identity we carried the designs through to more applications than originally anticipated.

Website
Being a research centre, the website needs to contain a great deal of information. We opted for a simple design, one that draws from the logo colours and sits well with the ACU parent website.

Accessiblity
One major requirements for the website was that it be WC3 compliant. University websites often require WC3 compliancy to ensure their sites are accessible to people with disablities. This entails rigorous standards of construction.
